![]() If you're a Power Armor user, you have little to worry about. The fog does not put out immense radiation, so Rad-X can help you to survive it without Power Armor. It's unsafe to walk around in a Hazmat Suit given its low damage resistance and the might of the enemies you'll be facing. ![]() The safer areas of 'The Fog' will give you 1 Rad/sec and drain your max life at 1% per ten seconds. ![]() It may not occur to some players, so I'd like to point out that you can safely store crafting materials inside Far Harbor's armor/weapons/power armor workbenches if you do not want to travel back to the Commonwealth. That is, if you don't want to quickload to try repeatedly and "cheat".ĭon't bring too much with you, just your best gear and some meds to help with radiation. There are also speech checks that can alter outcomes, so having charisma gear to wear in safe areas when talking to people will help, as will any drugs that raise Charisma. There are many more skill checks than in the base game - which has like 2. This is especially helpful during key moments. You may also have more influence over factions if you help them, and your words will carry more weight with residents of any of the three factions. Some side quests will disappear if you do so, though it's not clear at exactly which points. It's suggested you do not rush through the Main Quest in Far Harbor. Keep this in mind when reading my walkthrough, though for the moment things do not seem to branch out at least until you've met Kasumi. At first, I will pursue a peaceful ending for my walkthroughs then go back and see how horrible I can make the lives of its citizens. There are peaceful and violent endings based upon your actions in Far Harbor. It is likely he is at one of your early settlements if you didn't just leave him at the Valentine Detective Agency. If you cannot find Nick Valentine and are on PC, you can use the cheat player.moveto 2f25 in order to teleport to him. However, doing so will result in special dialog that persists throughout the entirety of the DLC - so it's not a bad idea. Know that you do not need to track down Valentine to do this quest, nor are you required to take him with you. Use the Pip-boy to listen to Valentine Detective Agency Radio to learn more. How to get to Far Harbor and start: There is no minimum level for a character to being the Far Harbor DLC! You must have made it to Diamond City and met Nick Valentine, and if so you will get a quest called Far From Home.
